One of my good friends asked me to design a birth announcement for her. I felt so honored to be able to help capture this special moment in time for her to share with her friends and family.
The nursery is decorated in a monkey with pink hair bows theme, so of course that must be carried through to the birth announcement ;) I had so much fun designing this for her! Here is the final result:
The monkey is cut from the Create A Critter cartridge and the flower (aka - pink hairbow) and vine are also cut from the same cartridge. I am so pleased with how these turned out! I think they are definitely girly and so fun - and that picture, well it doesn't get much more adorable than that my peeps!

My Pink Stamper Design Team Call - August to January Term
I am so excited that Robyn over at My Pink Stamper is having another Design Team call! I have been a follower of Robyn's for about 3 years and just love her videos and stamps. I even got a chance to meet her in person last year at Summer CHA in Chicago and what a treat that was!
For the design call we were asked to submit a card or scrapbook layout using our favorite Cricut cartridge. Well my peeps, it is hard for me to choose one favorite Cricut cartridge because I have multiple favorites. One of my new favorites is the Just A Note cartridge. This cartridge came loaded on my new Expression 2 and I have used it quite a bit and thought I just had to use it for this submission!
The lollipops are cut at 3" and popped up on the card for some dimension. I distressed the edges of all of the cuts and the turquoise card layer to also help add some dimension. I am in love with my white gel pens, so I put them to good use on this card and helped kick it up a notch or two ;)
This card is definitely sweet and it fits pefectly with the 'You're very sweet!' sentiment found in the MPS Fruit & Veggie Puns stamp set.
Thanks for stoppin' by!
Card Supplies and Recipe:
Kraft Paper for base of card
Bazill Cardstock (used for turqouise card layer and all cuts on lollipops)
White Gel Pen
Creative Memories Brown Chalking Ink
Celebrate It brown ribbon
3D Pop Up Squares
'Just A Note' Cricut cartridge
MPS 'Fruit & Veggie Puns' stamps

Cricut Card Swap July - Just A Note
July's theme for the Cricut Card Swap that I participate in was to make a Just A Note card. As soon as I saw the theme, I knew exactly what I wanted to do. I have been wanting to use this arrow since I saw it on the cartridge and I had the perfect stamp sentiment to go along with it - so I was in business right away! I just love how this card turned out. It is one of my favorite cards that I have made lately. Here is a picture:
I used one of my new cartridges Cricut Essentials to complete this card. I am just in love with this cartridge that came pre-loaded on my E2! Have I mentioned before that I am absolutely in love with my new Cricut E2? This machine rocks peeps!! Anywho - the sentiment is from the stamp set Punnylicious available from My Pink Stamper - Robyn Cardon.
Have a great day and get make sure to get crafty too!

A Front Door and Vinyl - Oh My!!
I tried my hand at something yesterday that I can honestly say I don't think I ever would have thought of on my own. My sister saw a picture in a magazine where they applied a vinyl saying to the front door and she thought it was just exactly what her newly painted front door needed! So I loaded up my Cricut E2 and away I went to Lansing with some of her requested color of vinyl (Chocolate to go with her new basil green door!).
All she knew is that she wanted it to say "Welcome" and wanted some sort of scrolly thingys (real technical terms here peeps) on each end by the "W" and the "e". So a hunting we went through all of my Cricut cartridges and THERE IT WAS already created for us on the Cricut American Alphabet cartridge! We enlarged the image to 3.25" and put the chocolate vinyl on a 12x24 mat and away we went :) It was so super duper easy!
Here is a picture of how it turned out:
Isn't it super duper cute! It's just a little something to greet you when you walk up to the door and thoroughout the year she hangs different wreaths and decorations on the door too which will only add to the awesomeness of this project!
So my peeps, I encourage you to get out that vinyl and get cutting. Maybe there is a little space in your house that needs the awesome touch that only vinyl sayings can add.
Happy crafting!

Cricut Card Swap
So, I have been wanting to enter a card swap for quite a long time now and finally took the plunge! I found a Cricut Card Swap group on facebook and decided that this is what I was looking for and it is monthly with all different themes already pre-determined. Of course, being new to this type of thing I was really excited to get started. Well my peeps, it seems I was a little too excited because I created and sent the wrong theme for the month! What does this mean - well those who received the cards have commented that they love them and to not worry about the wrong theme, and while I am excited about their feedback that is not the One Krafty Chick way :) So, the correct themed cards are underway and will hopefully be mailed by the end of the week . . . Here is a picture of the card I made for the swap thinking I had the schedule figured out LOL!!
I love how it turned out! Well . . . on to complete those correct cards for this month's theme :) Thanks for stopping by!

Happy 4th of July - Have S'mores!!
I hope you all had a great holiday weekend and got lots of grilling and get togethers in too! What a beautiful weekend we had here in Michigan.
We celebrated with friends and family this holiday weekend. On Saturday we had our annual family July 4th party at my parents house on School Section Lake near Big Rapids. This is something we have done every year since I was 4 years old. Wow - that makes me feel old my friends!! It is so fun to relive the fun times through my 7 year old niece and my twin niece and nephew age 4. They are making so many fun memories too at the lake I grew up on and it is so fun to watch.
I always try to make something special for the kids everytime we get together. I try not to make it to elaborate but enough to give something insignificant a little Krafty Chick touch :) This year I decided to do s'mores kits for the kids as we always have a bonfire in the evening before the party wraps up. I got the inspiration for this project from Becky at Inking Idaho. Here is a picture of how mine turned out:
I used one graham cracker, 2 snack size Hershey Bars and 1 campfire marshmallow (these are huge!!!). They were so cute stacked in a little basket and the kids loved them. Everything they needed was there, they just had to roast the marshmallow and put it back together. I packaged them in a clear snack bag found at JoAnn's and tied with the red and white polka dot ribbon. Super duper easy and really festive.
I also made some cards for a Cricut card swap group I just joined, but I can't share those just yet as "the rules" say we have to wait until the 12th to make sure everyone received their cards. So, I will have a post on those next week. I did a 4th of July theme for those too and had a blast making them!
Thank you to all of you who are serving or have served in the past in our military. I have many friends who have served in the past and friends and family who are currently serving. If not for all of you, we wouldn't have our freedom and be able to celebrate! A big T-H-A-N-K-S to all of you for your sacrifices for my freedom!!!

My New Mailbox
I have been wanting a new mailbox for the better part of a year, but I just can't justify the cost of the one I like the best. I mean REALLY - it just holds mail!! So I decided I was going to try to see if I could spray paint my current mailbox as the thing that bothered me the most about it was the color. Off to Lowe's I go to figure out what kind of spray paint I would need as we have the plastic molded type mailbox. Woo Hoo!! Did you know they have a special kind of spray paint meant for pvc and molded plastic chairs and mailboxes now? I sure didn't - but let me tell you my peeps, this made me dance with joy :) I tried not to dance in the aisles at Lowe's but it was r-e-a-l-l-y hard!!
Anywho - I am so happy with the results. It turned my ho hum mailbox into just what I have been looking for. Here are the before pics:
And the after pics:
And let me say that the neighborhood kids thought this was quite a sight to behold. I had an audience of about 10 kids watching this all take place and asking if they could use the spray paint on their bikes and other misc. things. Well, no kids. You must always ask your mom before you spray paint ANYTHING as it is permanent and won't come off.
That is it for today's Krafty Chick installment. I have lots of other fun projects on the horizon, so check back soon!
